Removal Procedure

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
Remove springs (2) and heat shield assembly (1).

Use ink to mark Location (Z). The marking will ensure proper depth when installing tube assembly (4).
Loosen clamp (3), clamp (5), and remove flexible exhaust pipe assembly (4).

Remove eight bolts (7) and exhaust elbow (6).

Loosen clip (8), and remove springs (10) and heat shield assembly (9).

Remove clamp (12) and tube (11).

Use ink to mark Location (X). The marking will ensure proper depth when installing tube assembly (14).
Loosen clamps (15), then remove clamp (13) and tube assembly (14).

Remove bolts (16) and exhaust elbow (17).
Repeat Step 1 through Step 9 for the opposite side.
