Tests And Adjustments
A. Control Response Test
This test should be performed on level, packed dirt. Be prepared for very rapid stops. Clear area on direction of machine travel.
1. Start engine and run at full throttle. 2. Move propel lever to full forward. 3. After machine is moving, move propel lever back to center/stop position. 4. Propel pump should respond in 11/2 seconds and machine should stop quickly.5. If response is sluggish, check servo-control portion of the pump.B. Pump Charge Pressure Test
With all tests and adjustments that require a running engine, there must be two people working, one at the controls and the other performing the tests and adjustments.
Servicing hot, pressurized hydraulic systems. Allow system to cool down, relieve hydraulic pressure build up before opening or removing covers, caps, and hoses. Wear eye protection, gloves, and other necessary safety items.
