Typical Location of 8Y-6388 Louver Assemblies (1) in Heater GroupThe wheel that directs air flow from side-to-side and is positioned at the bottom of the 8Y-6388 Louver Assemblies (1) may be struck by the operator's foot. This breaks the tabs that hold the louver assemblies in place in front of the heater group. The louver assembly may fall into the heater group and become difficult to retrieve from the heater group. If the tabs on the louver assembly breaks, the louver assembly must be replaced.
The following instructions are for louver assemblies installed in the front of the heater group with the wheel that directs air flow from side-to-side located at the bottom of the louver assembly. If the wheel is located at the top of the louver assembly, you have the corrected change.To improve the service life of the 8Y-6388 Louver Assemblies (1), it is recommended that you:
1. Remove the louver assemblies from the front of the heater group.2. Inspect the tabs on the louver assemblies for any damage and replace the louver assemblies that are damaged.3. Install the louver assemblies with the wheel that directs the air flow from side-to-side upward.
