Oil that is hot or under pressure can cause personal injury. To prevent personal injury, let the oil become cool before oil lines (1) and (2) are disconnected. Loosen oil lines (1) and (2) slowly to release any pressure in the oil lines.
1. Put identification on all oil lines as to their location on the swivel joint. Disconnect oil lines (1) and (2) from the rear of the swivel joint. 2. Disconnect oil lines (6) and (5) from the front of swivel joint (4).3. Remove cotter pin (8) and the washer. Remove pin (7) from the swivel joint.4. Fasten a hoist to the swive joint. Remove bolts (3) that hold swivel joint to the circle drawbar. Remove swivel joint (4). Weight is 75 lb. (34 kg).Install Swivel Joint
1. Fasten a hoist to swivel joint (1). Put it in position on the circle drawbar. Install the bolts that hold it.2. Put guide assembly (3) in position on the swivel joint. Install the pin that holds it. Install the washer and the cotter pin on the pin.3. Connect oil lines (2) and (4) to their correct location on the front of the swivel joint. 4. Connect oil lines (5) and (6) to their correct location on the rear of swivel joint (1).5. Fill the hydraulic oil tank with oil to its correct level.Disassemble Swivel Joint
START BY:a) remove swivel joint 1. Remove screws (5) and retainer (1) from body (2). Remove the shims from under the retainer. Remove the two seals from the retainer.2. Remove bolts (4) and the cover from rotor (3). Remove the four O-ring seals from the cover. 3. Remove rotor (3) from body (2) with an arbor press and tool (A). 4. Remove seals (6) from body (2). 5. Remove two seals (7) from rotor (3).Assemble Swivel Joint
1. Put clean SAE 10 oil on seals (2) and (3). Put seal (3) in position in rotor (1). Install seal (2) with the grooves in the seal away from seal (3). 2. Install the O-ring seal in each groove in body (4). Install the seals with the grooves on the inside diameter over each of the O-ring seals.3. Install rotor (1) in body (4) with an arbor press. 4. Install new O-ring seals (6) in cover (5). Put cover (5) in position on rotor (1). Install the bolts that hold it. 5. Put clean SAE 10 oil on the seals for retainer (7). Install the flat seal in the retainer. Install seal (8) so the grooves in the seal are toward rotor (9). Install the screws that hold the retainer in position. Use a feeler gauge to find the distance between retainer (7) and body (4). Remove the retainer. Add enough shims so that the distance between rotor (7) and body (5) is .005 to .020 in. (0.13 to 0.51 mm). Install the retainer and the screws that hold it in place.END BY:a) install swivel joint
