(36)Transmission, Hoist And Brake Hydraulic System
Use caution when draining oil or changing filters. Hot oil or components can cause personal injury if they contact skin.
The machine must be level, parking brake set and the engine stopped.Run the engine until the oil is warm, then stop the engine. 1. To prevent vacuum in the tank, remove the filler cap. 2. Remove the hydraulic tank drain valve plug (1). Open the drain valve (2) and drain the oil. 3. Remove the transmission drain plug. Drain the transmission oil. 4. Remove the bolts from the oil pump suction cover assembly. Remove the cover and screen assembly. Approximately 1 U.S. gallon (3.8 liters) of oil will drain when the cover is removed. 5. Remove the screen and baffle retaining nut.6. Remove the baffle (1) and the screen (2) from the cover (3). Wash the screen, cover and baffle in clean nonflammable solvent. DO NOT CRUSH SCREEN. 7. Inspect the cover gasket. Use a new gasket if the used one is damaged. Assemble the screen and baffle on the cover and install the cover assembly.
Use care when removing the magnet and screen housing cover. Contents are under spring tension.
8. Remove the cover. 9. Remove the wave washer (1) and the screen (2).
Do not drop or rap magnets against hard objects.
10. Remove the magnet and tube assembly (3).11. Wash the screen and tube assembly in clean nonflammable solvent.12. Install the clean tube assembly, screen and wave washer. Inspect the seal in the housing, and replace it if it is damaged.13. Install the cover.14. Change the filter elements (See page 27).15. Close the drain valves.16. Install all drain plugs. 17. Remove and clean the hydraulic tank filler cap. Inspect the seal. Use a new seal if the used one is damaged.18. Remove the filler screen retaining ring and remove the screen.19. Wash the filler screen in clean nonflammable solvent. Allow it to dry.20. Install the filler screen, retaining ring and cap.21. Clean and install all the drain plugs. 22. Fill the hydraulic tank. See REFILL CAPACITIES.23. Start the engine and run it at low idle.24. Check for leaks.25. Maintain the oil level to the FULL mark in the sight gauge.26. Add oil if necessary.(37)Front Wheel Bearings
1. Position the front wheel with the drain plug down. Remove the drain plug and drain the oil.2. Clean and install the drain plug.3. Remove the fill plug. Fill the compartment to the bottom
