Engine ECM
Connect a laptop computer with Cat Electronic Technician (Cat ET) to the machine via the communication adapter.
Turn the key to the ON position.
Start Electronic Technician and establish communication with the machine.
Select the Engine ECM from the ECM Summary page in Cat ET.

Select, "Security Access Parameters".
If the Security System Immobilizer Installation is "Unavailable" or "Not Installed", or missing, then skip to the "Machine ECM" section below.If the Security System Immobilizer is "Installed" then continue to the next step to complete the uninstall instruction for the engine ECM.

MSS Uninstall
Select "Machine Security System Uninstall" from the "Service" menu.

Uninstall Screen
Select the "Uninstall" button at the bottom of the page. This button will launch the "Uninstall Confirmation" dialog box.

Uninstall Confirmation
Select "Yes" to continue.

Enter "Factory Password #1" and "Factory Password #2". Click the "OK" button.

Immobilizer Status
Click the "OK" button on the "Immobilizer Status" dialog box.

The engine immobilizer is now uninstalled. Proceed to the following section to complete the uninstall process.Machine ECM
When you uninstall the Machine Security System (MSS) via the Configuration screen, all the Immobilizer software in other ECM's will be automatically uninstalled.
Select the machine ECM that contains the MSS from the "ECM Summary" screen in Cat ET Service Tool.

Select the "Service" menu from the toolbar on the Cat ET Service Tool window. Select "Configuration".
Expand the "Security Access Parameters" option.
Double-click "Advanced Machine Security Installation Status".

Change Parameter Value
Selecting "Advanced Machine Security Installation Status" will launch the Change Parameter Value window.
Click the drop-down and select "Not Installed".
Click "OK".A prompt will appear asking if you are sure that you want to program this parameter? Select "Yes".

MSS Status Verification
Verify that this parameter has uninstalled correctly. Check that the status indicates "Not Installed" in ET. The MSS system should now be fully uninstalled and have no lockout implications.
