Some parameters need to be configured for the machine to operate properly. The configuration screen for the ECM can be accessed by using the Caterpillar Electronic Technician (Cat ET). The configuration screen for each ECM is accessed from the above ECM summary screen by selecting "Configuration" from the "Service" drop-down menu. The following explains some of the parameters:Blade Control Response Configuration
This feature allows the operator to designate a desired control response. The control response selected determines the modulation of the implement movement given a specific Implement Control Handle travel (Mod-Map). The operator can select from one of the following modulation settings:Fast - Faster motion of the blade with large handle travel with respect to the standard setting.Fine - Slower motion of the blade with large handle travel with respect to the standard setting.Standard - This is the default setting.AccuGrade System Installation Status
Programming this feature enables the AccuGrade system on the machine. This is a factory password protected feature. This feature can be programmed to one of the following settings:Installed - Enables switch inputs on the implement control handle for increment, decrement and Auto/Manual Accugrade switches and allows the machine control to accept commands from the Accugrade system.Not Installed - Disables switch inputs on the implement control handle for increment, decrement and Auto/Manual Accugrade switches. Machine control does not respond to Accugrade commands.AccuGrade Temporary Installation Status (Accugrd Free Use)
Programming this feature enables a time limited use of the AccuGrade system without having a factory password. When the free use minutes have been used up this feature will no longer be available. This feature can be programmed to one of the following settings:Installed - Enables switch inputs on the implement control handle for increment, decrement and Auto/ManualAccugrade switches and allows the machine control to accept commands from the Accugrade system. When this feature is enabled the free use minutes will count down while the machine is running.Not Installed - Disables switch inputs on the implement control handle for increment, decrement and Auto/Manual Accugrade switches. Machine control does not respond to Accugrade commands.AccuGrade Temporary Installation Time Remaining (Accugrd Free Mins)
This parameter on the configuration screen is not programmable, however it does provide the remaining number of minutes the AccuGrade Temporary Installation Feature will be available. The default number of free use minutes is 3000.Solenoid Maximum Current
This parameter is used in order to adjust the maximum calibration current associated with the solenoid. This value can be adjusted from [X] mA to [Y] mA. If a value outside of this range is entered, the ECM will correct the value and set it back to the last valid value. The following table shows the min values and max values for the solenoids.
