1     1     6Y-6277 Duo-Cone Seal Gp (1)     The rubber toric seals and all the contacting surfaces must be clean and dry at assembly. Before assembly, apply a thin film of oil to the contacting surfaces of the metal seal rings. The metal seal rings must be assembled square. The rubber toric seals should not bulge and the rubber toric seals should not twist.    
2     1     9X-7363 Lip Type Seal     Lubricate the sealing lip lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.
During assembly, do not apply excessive force to the lip type seal. Excessive force can damage the lip type seal and result to cause malfunction.
Installation depth (C) is 9.65 mm (0.380 inch).    
B     -     -     Gap of
0.08 0.05 mm (0.003 0.002 inch) will ensure the metal to metal clamp - up between the hub and the retainer.

D     -     -     Gap of
0.08 0.05 mm (0.003 0.002 inch) will ensure the metal to metal clamp - up between the shaft and the covers. Check this gap before you tighten the bolts on the covers to the shaft. After the covers are tightened, make sure that the gears can turn freely. Drive the covers toward the carrier with the proper tooling if the gears cannot turn freely.
