Attach a "Do Not Operate" warning tag or a similar warning tag to the start switch or to the controls before you service the equipment or before you repair the equipment. Place the stick of the excavator in an extended position.
Extend the bucket cylinder in order to place the coupler in a fully curled position.
Lower the coupler to the ground.
Shut off the engine of the excavator.
Relieve the hydraulic pressure in the hydraulic system of the excavator. Refer to the Operation Manual of the excavator for the procedure to relieve hydraulic pressure.
Place one 3J-7354 O-Ring Seal (4) onto the male end of 352-5523 Hose As (2) .
Insert male end of 352-5523 Hose As (2) into the 7/16-20 port of coupler cylinder. Tighten hose fitting to proper torque.
Place one 3J-1907 O-Ring Seal (3) onto the male end of 352-5522 Hose As (1) .
Insert male end of 352-5522 Hose As (1) into the 9/16-18 port of coupler cylinder. Tighten hose fitting to proper torque.
Insert one 6V-8397 O-Ring Seal (5) into each end of the two 6V-8994 Unions (7) .
Place the two 6V-8994 Unions (7) in the existing bulkhead tabs on the top of the machine stick. Secure each of them with a 6V-9168 Nut (7) .
Connect the remaining end of 352-5522 Hose As (1), Installed in step 9, to the 6V-8994 Union (7) on the right hand side of the stick (as viewed from machine operator's station).
Connect the 352-5523 Hose As (2), installed in step 7, to the 6V-8994 Union (7) on the left hand side of the stick (as viewed from machine operator's station).
Tighten all fittings and hardware to proper torque
Test the operation of the coupler.
Rotate the coupler from full curl to full retract positions.
