Accidental engine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the equipment.To avoid accidental engine starting, disconnect the battery cable from the negative (−) battery terminal. Completely tape all metal surfaces of the disconnected battery cable end in order to prevent contact with other metal surfaces which could activate the engine electrical system.Place a Do Not Operate tag at the Start/Stop switch location to inform personnel that the equipment is being worked on.

Open battery disconnect switch.
Remove cover on circuit breaker panel.

(1) 324-0694 Cable As (2) Main power relay (3) Lower outboard circuit breaker (4) 149-2612 Relay
Remove existing 324-0694 Cable As (1) from the main power relay (2) and the lower outboard circuit breaker (3), as shown in Illustration 1, and discard.
Remove four nuts on the back side of the 149-2612 Relay (4) .
Remove four bolts and washers on the relay (4) side.
Remove 149-2612 Relay (4) and swing aside.

Drill three 7 mm diameter holes as shown in Illustration 2. Use coordinates in Table 2.

Place 149-2612 Relay (4) at the original position. Rotate 90° to the right. Align the relay (4) slots with the new drilled holes. Wires should be facing a 3 o'clock orientation.

Assemble three 8T-4970 Bolts and three 8T-4205 Hard Washers and insert on the relay (4) side through the drilled holes. Refer to Illustration 3. Add three 5C-2890 Nuts on the back side and seal with silicone sealant.Tighten to 5.2 0.8 N m (46 7 lb in).

(2) Main power relay (3) Lower outboard circuit breaker (5) 426-2309 Cable As
Attach 426-2309 Cable As (5) to the main power relay (2) and the lower outboard circuit breaker (3) as shown in Illustration 4.Note: Check to insure that the 426-2309 Cable As does not foul the relay or anything else.
Test the function of the hood.
Reassemble the cover to circuit breaker.
