The later rods are marked "Even Cyl Only" and "Odd Cyl Only". The rods must be installed in the correct bank of the cylinder block and the part numbers on the rods must be toward the flywheel. The later connecting rods can be installed in earlier cylinder blocks when the correct cooling jets for the piston are installed.
