Removal Procedure
Start By:
Raise and pin the body. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Retaining Ring and Pin (Body) - Remove and Install".
Remove the left side engine enclosure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Sound Suppression (Engine Enclosure) - Remove and Install".

Attach a suitable lifting device to electric starting motor (2). The weight of electric starting motor (2) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).
Disconnect harness assembly (1). Disconnect cable assembly (3) and cable assemblies (4) .

Remove bolts (5). Remove electric starting motor (2) and the gasket.Installation Procedure

Attach a suitable lifting device to electric starting motor (2). The weight of electric starting motor (2) is approximately 36 kg (80 lb).
Position electric starting motor (2) and install bolts (5) .

Connect cable assembly (3) and cable assemblies (4). Tighten each of the nut to a torque 31 4 N m (23 3 lb ft).
Connect harness assembly (1). Tighten the nut to a torque 2.25 .25 N m (19.9 2.2 lb in).End By:
Install the left side engine enclosure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Sound Suppression (Engine Enclosure) - Remove and Install".
Remove pin and lower the body. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Retaining Ring and Pin (Body) - Remove and Install".
