Illustration 1 g06184357Consult your Cat dealer for repair of any cracks in the ROPS.Inspect the ROPS for loose bolts or for damaged bolts. Replace any damaged bolts or missing bolts with original equipment parts only. Tighten the M24 bolt (1) to 425 50 N m (315 40 lb ft).Note: Apply oil to all ROPS bolt threads before you install the bolts. Failure to apply oil to the bolt threads can result in improper bolt torque.Do not straighten the ROPS. Do not repair the ROPS by welding reinforcement plates to the ROPS.Consult your Cat dealer for inspection of any potential damage or repair of any damage to any operator protective structure. (Including ROPS, FOPS, TOPS, OPS, and OPG) Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS6929, "Inspection, Maintenance, and Repair of Operator Protective Structures (OPS) and Attachment Installation Guidelines for All Earthmoving Machinery"
