Conveyor Speed Solenoid
The conveyor speed valve is an output of the ECM. The ECM uses this valve to control the speed of the conveyor. Based on the operators request (conveyor on/off switch and conveyor speed switch), the ECM applies electrical current to the conveyor speed solenoid valve.This is a proportional type solenoid. The ECM uses a pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to vary the current to the solenoid valve. The distance the plunger (valve) travels is in proportion to the electrical current sent by the ECM. The conveyor speed solenoid controls the speed at which the conveyor moves. A low current (0-.4A) makes the conveyor go slow, a high current (1-1.4A) makes the conveyor go fast.Relays
Backup Alarm Relay
Backup Alarm Relay.The purpose of the backup alarm relay is to turn on the backup alarm. When the operator places the propel speed/direction lever in the reverse direction, the ECM energizes the backup alarm relay which applies +battery to the backup alarm and the backup lights. When the operator places the propel speed/direction lever in the forward or neutral direction, the ECM de-energizes the backup alarm relay which removes +battery from the backup alarm. The ECM uses a +battery signal to activate the backup alarm relay.Water Spray Relay
Water Spray Relay.The purpose of the water spray relay is to turn on the water spray pump. When the water spray switch is in the OFF position, the ECM de-energizes the water spray relay which turns off the water spray pump. When the water spray switch is in the ON position, the ECM energizes the water spray relay which turns on the water spray pump. When the water spray switch is in the AUTO position with the rotor on and the machine moving forward, the ECM energizes the water spray relay which turns on the water spray pump.Backup Alarm
Backup Alarm.The backup alarm is controlled by the backup alarm relay. The purpose of the backup alarm is to alert nearby personnel that the machine is backing up. When the backup alarm relay applies +battery to the backup alarm, the alarm sounds.CAT Data Link
The CAT data link is an input and an output of the Computerized Profiler Control ECM. The purpose of the data link is to communicate with other electronic control modules (ECM) on the machine or to communicate with a service tool. The data link is bi-directional which allows the Computerized Profiler Control ECM to input and output information. The data link is not a visible component; it consists of internal ECM circuits, the related harness wiring and the service tool connector.Much information is available on the CAT data link.
