The bogie assembly is free to pivot vertically when the front of the machine is raised. When a bogie wheel is removed, block the other wheel to prevent bodily injury.
2. Raise the front of the machine on the side to be worked on. Block the machine in the raised position. 3. Use a large screw driver and remove dust cap (1).4. Straighten cotter pin (2) and remove it. Remove spindle nut (3), washer (4) and outer bearing (5).5. Attach a nylon strap and a hoist to bogie wheel (6). Remove bogie wheel (6) from the spindle. The weight of the bogie wheel is approximately 118 kg (260 lb).6. Remove outer bearing cup (7), inner bearing (8), inner bearing cup (9), and grease seal (10) from the wheel assembly. The following steps are for installation of the bogie wheel assembly. All bogie wheel components must be cleaned and inspected before assembly. If any components are worn beyond recommended limits they must be replaced. Lubricate all moving parts with clean oil during assembly. Assemble with all new seals.7. Install the grease seal, two inner bearing cups and inner bearing. Repack the hub cavity with 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease.8. Use a hoist and a nylon strap to position bogie wheel (6) on the spindle. Install outer bearing (5), washer (4) and spindle nut (3). Tighten spindle nut (3) on the spindle so there is no drag on the bearing and no end play in the bogie wheel. Install cotter pin (2).9. Install dust cap (1).
