Removal Procedure
Note: The guard must be fastened to the floor jack before the bolts that hold the guard are removed. The guard will fall off the jack if the guard is not fastened to the jack.

Remove cover (5) from the crankcase guard.

Typical Example
Put floor jack (7) in position under the crankcase guard. Refer to Illustration 4. Fasten the floor jack to the guard. Use two 1/2 inch - 13 NC bolts that are 50.8 mm (2 inch) long.
Remove bolts (3) that hold the guard to the frame of the machine. Lower the guard. Remove the guard from the machine. The weight of the crankcase guard (1) is 106 kg (235 lb).Note: Remove guard (2) by repeating Steps 1 through 3. Remove cover (6) and bolts (4) .Installation Procedure

Lift crankcase guard (1) so that the guard makes contact with the frame of the machine. Install bolts (3) that hold the guard to the frame of the machine. The weight of the crankcase guard (1) is 106 kg (235 lb).
Install cover (5) on the crankcase guard.Note: Install guard (2) by repeating Steps 1 through 3. Install cover (6) and bolts (4).
