Lower the temperature of lower hitch pin (12) to −62° 10°C (−80° 50°F).
Use a suitable lifting device and Tooling (R) in order to install lower hitch pin (12) into the bores of the lower hitch.

Install lower plate (10). Install bolts (9) and bolts (8).

Install hexagonal cap (11) in the threaded hole of lower hitch pin (12).
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Illustration 27 g01513636Note: Steps 41 through 45 will determine the shim pack thickness for the upper hitch.
Install plate (13) and bolts (14).
Position Tooling (S) through the small hole near the center of plate (13). Measure the distance from the bottom surface of plate (13) to the pin. Measure the thickness of plate (13) and subtract that amount from the original distance that was measured. This determines the number of shims that is needed under plate (13).

Remove plate (13) and add the measured number of shims from Step 42. Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 50 lb ft).

Use the following steps in order to determine the shim pack that is required for upper plate (22).
Tighten bolts (21). Note: Do not tighten bolts (20) at this time.
Position Tooling (S) through the small hole near the outside bolt pattern of plate (22).
Measure the distance from the top of plate (22) to the surface of the upper boss.
To determine the required number of shims, subtract the thickness of plate (22) from the measured distance.

Remove plate (22) and add the number of shims (23) from Step 44. Install bolts (20). Install bolts (21). Tighten bolts (21) to a torque of 530 70 N m (390 50 lb ft).

Install bracket assembly (19).
Install neutralizer valves and mounting bracket (18).
Connect hose assemblies (15), hose assemblies (16), and hose assemblies (17).

Install pin assembly (7) and pin retainer (6). Repeat this step for the steering cylinder on the opposite side of the machine.

Connect harness assemblies (1). Tighten the screw for harness assemblies (1) to a torque of 6.0 + 1.5 - 1.0 N m (53.10 + 13.28 - 8.85 lb in). Install harness clip (5).
Install clamp (2) in order to fasten harness assemblies (1) to the rear main frame.
Connect hose assemblies (3) and (4).
Lubricate the upper hitch assembly and the lower hitch assembly. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Articulation Bearings - Lubricate" for the correct procedure.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic System Oil - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.
Start the engine and check for leaks. Check for proper operation of the implements. Note: After the steering frame lock is separated, check for proper operation of the steering system and of the brakes.End By:
Install the center drive shaft.
Install the cab.
Install the push arms and the blade.
