Information:
Transmissions that are operated in converter drive for an extended period of time may overheat. In order to achieve optimum operating temperature, additional cooling capacity may be required to avoid damage to the transmission.

(1) Transmission Electronic Control Module (ECM) Note: When a new transmission is put into service the electronic control module (ECM), must be informed of the type of well servicing application the unit will be placed. This must also be done when the transmission ECM is reflashed. This procedure is found in Special Instruction, REHS4541, "Software Configuration Guide".The transmission ECM monitors the condition of the machine for proper system operation. Components sense the condition of the machine. Components then send electrical signals to the inputs of the electronic control unit.

(2) "R" (Reverse) engage the transmission.
(3) "N" (Neutral) engage from any gear.
(4) "D" (Drive) engage the transmission.
(5) "Up arrow" (High gear limit or upshift)
(6) "Down arrow" (Low gear limit or downshift) Note: The function of the up arrow or down arrow depends on the transmission control.

(7) Shift control Some applications require the use of two transmission controls. In this case, a shift control (7) is included. The shift control identifies the active transmission control to the transmission ECM . The transmission control allows the transmission ECM to determine the operational mode of the transmission.Read the following directions in order to change from one transmission control to another transmission control.
Press the "N" on the active transmission control.
Make sure that the display reads "NN".
Toggle shift control (7).
Press the "N" on the newly activated transmission control.
Begin normal operation.Note: The shift control changes the active transmission control and the functionality of the transmission. The OEM vehicle system and the skid design may require a further operator input to ensure that the flow of power travels to the appropriate output. This is based on the design by the OEM.The shift control needs to be toggled in order to make the change from the "AUTO MODE" transmission control located in the front, to the "DECK MODE" transmission control located in the rear. The design by the OEM may require a shift or an engagement of a transfer case. The shift will make sure that the flow of power is changed from the drive axle to the appropriate output. The shift control can be toggled to the ON position or to the OFF position. Toggling the shift control allows the operator to select the use of one of the transmission controls. The shift control is located on the wiring harness that connects the transmission controls. Toggling the shift control to the ON position selects the "AUTO MODE" of the transmission control located in the front. Toggling the shift switch to the OFF position selects the "DECK MODE" transmission control located in the rear.Troubleshooting the control of the transmission operation
If the shift control is toggled in gear, then the active transmission control or the shift mode of the transmission will not change. However, once a shift to neutral is made,
