Remove Aftercooler Housing
start by: a) remove fuel filter baseb) remove instrument panel1. Remove the coolant from the engine.2. Remove the four bolts, nuts and the cover that connect the inlet pipe to the aftercooler cover.
INDUSTRIAL ENGINE3. Put a mark on the turbocharger compressor housing (1) in alignment with a mark on the turbocharger cartridge housing (2). Loosen the nut (4) on the "V" clamp (3). Move the air inlet pipe away from the aftercooler.
MARINE ENGINE4. Remove the bolts (7) that hold the aftercooler housing (5) to the cylinder head.5. Disconnect hose (6) from the aftercooler housing (if so equipped).6. Fasten a hoist to the aftercooler housing and remove the aftercooler housing from the engine. Weight is 95 lb. (43 kg).Install Aftercooling Housing
INDUSTRIAL ENGINE1. Install new O-ring seals on the aftercooler water inlet and outlet pipes (2).2. Fasten a hoist to the aftercooler housing (1) and put the aftercooler in position on the water pipes and cylinder head.3. Install the bolts that hold the aftercooler housing to the cylinder head.4. Turn the turbocharger compressor housing carefully so the mark on the housing is in alignment with the mark on the turbocharger cartridge housing. Tighten the nut on the "V" clamp to a torque of 120 10 lb.in. (13.6 1.1 N m).
Do not cause damage to the O-ring seal between the turbocharger compressor housing and the cartridge housing.
5. Install the bolts, nuts and the cover that connect the inlet pipe to the aftercooler cover.
MARINE ENGINE6. Connect line (3) to the aftercooler housing (if so equipped). Fill engine with coolant.end by: a) install instrument panelb) install fuel filter base
