The new 197-5807 Indicator Valve is available to measure the cylinder pressure in these engines. This new valve can be used as a direct replacement for the 7C-7077 Indicator Valve (Kiene Valve). Be sure that the threads in the cylinder head that are for the new indicator valve are good. The threads should be free of any foreign material.
Put a light coat of 4C-5598 High Temperature Anti-Seize on the 1/2 - 14 NPTF threads of the 208-3899 Adapter (6). Install the adapter in the cylinder head.
Put a new 5B-9246 Gasket (5) in position in the adapter (6) .
Install the valve (3) in the adapter (6) .
Loosen nut (4). Turn the valve (3) until the valve stem (2) points upward for Vee engines or the valve stem points downward for In-line engines. Tighten nut (4) to a torque of 50 3 N m (37 2 lb ft).
To close the valve stem (2), tighten the valve stem to the stop. Then, rotate the valve stem for 1/4 turn in a clockwise direction .
Tighten the cap (1) to a torque of 17 3 N m (13 2 lb ft).
