(2) Engine ECMEngine shutdown switch (1) is used on the machine to provide Engine ECM (2) with an engine shutdown mode.With the battery disconnect switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker 4 to Engine ECM (2) .With key start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker 12 to Engine ECM (2) .Engine shutdown switch (1) has two sets of contacts: normally closed and normally open. Engine ECM (2) has two inputs: normally closed and normally open. When engine shutdown switch (1) is pushed to the OFF position, the inputs of the engine shutdown switch (1) contacts change state, the normally open contacts close and the normally closed contacts open. This signal from engine shutdown switch (1) is sent to Engine ECM (2). Engine ECM (2) will shut the engine down.Engine shutdown switch (1) will reset when the knob is turned clockwise.
