Rework Procedure
Replace The Three Point Hitch Quick Coupler
(Group 1)
Product Requiring Rework
1. All machines listed in Group 1 that had 3 Pt Hitch Quick Couplers installed at the factory should be reworked.2. Any machine listed in Group 1, not originally equipped from the factory with 3 Pt Hitch Quick Couplers, but had them installed later with parts out of the Caterpillar system should also be reworked.3. Any machine listed in Group 1 which had a 3 Pt Hitch Quick Coupler installed from sources outside the Caterpillar system are not covered under this program. Encourage customers, who own these machines, to seek replacements through the supplier where they purchased their quick coupler. Acceptable quick couplers (part number 1412843) have a lot code (an "H" followed by a four digit number) stamped in the square cross tube to the right of the top hook as shown in Illustration 1. Parts Needed
Refer to Illustration 1.
1. On the right and left side of the quick coupler:a. Remove pins (3)b. Lift the locking handle (5) and rotate the lower lock (6) to the front of the quick hitch. (So it is in position to later pull the linkage out of the opening at the lower front of the quick coupler.)c. Remove the bolt (1), nut (2) and handle (5)d. Pull the locking parts through the hole in the lower front of the quick hitch.2. Install the locking parts in the new quick hitch. Use the new bolt (1), nut (2) and pin (3) provided.3. Destroy the old quick hitch assembly by cutting through the top tube at the location indicated.

Rework Procedure
Rework all tractors within the serial number range listed that have a Three Point Hitch attachment with electronic draft control. (Electronic draft pins installed)
1. Place the draft control warning film (1418187) inside the cab at the bottom of the left side cab post just below the "Attention" film for tractor operation. (Refer to the picture on the crack and peel sticker SENU6753.)2. In the operation section of the Operation and Maintenance Manual (SEBU6753),on the page that explains the "Draft / Position Control Knob", place the crack and peel sticker (SENU6753) in the lower right-hand corner.
