Attach. (1-Rework Procedure)Rework Procedure
It is not necessary to remove the driveshaft to replace the parking brake camshaft.
Locate the machine on level ground. Articulatethe machine fully to the right or left to gain best access to the parkingbrake. Lower the implement to the ground. Shut the engine off. Do not engagethe parking brake. Block the machine?s tires or steel wheels.
Remove the cotter pin and clevis pin holding the1216607 Lever to the parking brake actuator. Loosen the bolt holding thelever to the parking brake camshaft. Remove the lever from the camshaft.
Remove the twelve bolts and washers holding thedrum to the parking brake. Slide the drum off the parking brake and overthe drive shaft.
Remove the springs, retaining rings, and braceplate holding the shoes to the anchor pins. Spread the shoes outward enoughto clear the camshaft. Remove the broken camshaft.
Install the new camshaft. Reposition the shoes.Install the brace plate, retaining rings, and springs back onto the anchorpins. Slide the drum back onto the parking brake. Install the twelve boltsand washers holding drum to parking brake. Tighten the bolts to 105 +/-20 N.m (80 +/- 15 lb ft).
Follow the Parking Brake Actuator ? Adjust procedurein the Service Manual Testing and Adjusting SENR5881 for 980G or SENR1334for 824G, 825G, and 826G to adjust the parking brake and reinstall the1216607 Lever. Tighten the bolt holding the lever to the camshaft to 55+/- 10 N.m (40 +/- 7 lb ft).
Check the parking brake function. Remove the tireor
