REAR AXLE SUPPORT BEARING (REAR)Remove Rear Axle Housing Supports
start by:a) remove axles1. Install the covers on the final drives to keep dirt out.2. Remove the guards from under the engine and transmission with a floor jack. Weight of the engine guard is 78 lb. (35.4 kg). Weight of the transmission guard is 200 lb. (90.7 kg).3. Remove air from the air tank. 4. Disconnect lines (2) from the quick release valve. Put identification on the lines for installation purposes.5. Connect an air supply to fitting (1) to release the rear brakes. 6. Remove the rear drive shaft (3).7. Remove bolts (4) from the front and rear supports.8. Put the bucket control lever in "FLOAT" position.9. Put blocks in front and rear of the front tires.10. Put a floor jack in position under the rear support. 11. Lift the rear of the machine evenly with tooling (A). Push the front and rear supports away from the frame with a bar. 12. Install tooling (B) and remove tooling (A).13. Remove the rear axle housing and supports from under the machine.14. Turn the axle housing until front support is up as shown. 15. Fasten a hoist and remove the front support (5). Weight of the front support is 75 lb. (34 kg). 16. Turn the axle housing until the rear support is up.17. Fasten a hoist to the rear support.18. Remove the cover (6).19. Remove the bolts (7), locks (9) and plate (8) holding the support to the trunnion.20. Remove the rear support. Weight is 88 lb. (39.9 kg).Install Rear Axle Housing Supports
1. Put the rear support (1) in position on the trunnion (2) with a hoist.2. Install the plate, locks, bolts, and cover, holding rear support to the trunnion.3. Turn the axle housing until the carrier assembly is up as shown and install the front support with a hoist.4. Release the brakes on the rear wheels. Connect a floor jack to the rear support.5. Put the rear axle housing and wheels as a unit into position under the machine.6. Lift the machine off tooling (B) with tooling (A). 7. Remove tooling (B). 8. Lower the machine slowly into position with tooling (A).9. Put the front and rear supports in alignment with the frame.10. Install the bolts (6) holding the front and rear supports to the frame. 11. Remove the air lines (5). Connect the air lines (4) to the quick release and holding valve (3). 12. Install the drive shaft (8). Tighten the bolts (7) to 98 10 lb.ft. (134 14 N m).13. Remove bearing (2) with tooling (A) from the front support for the rear axle housing.3. Remove seal and bearing from rear supports with tooling (A).Assemble Rear Axle Housing Supports
