Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Note: Check the condition of all seals and of all components. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Lower the temperature of bearing cups (1). Install the bearing cups in the carrier roller. The bearing cups should make contact with the bottom of the counterbores in the carrier roller.

Heat the bearing cone to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install the bearing cone on the shaft.
Install the shaft and the bearing cone in the carrier roller.

Heat bearing cone (2) to a maximum temperature of 135°C (275°F). Install the bearing cone on the shaft.

Install plate (3), lock (4) and bolts (5) in the end of the shaft. Bend the lock against the bolts.

Put the seal in a mixture of soap and water. Install the seal on cover (6). Put the cover in position on the carrier roller. Install the three bolts.

Note: For the assembly and the installation of the Duo-Cone Seals, refer to Disassembly and Assembly.
Turn the carrier roller upside-down.
Install Duo-Cone Seal (7) with tool (B) .Note: The rubber seals and all surfaces that make contact with seals must be clean and dry. After installation of the seals, put oil on the contact surfaces of the metal seals.
Install the Duo-Cone Seal in the collar with tool (B) .
Put the seal for the shaft in a mixture of soap and water. Install the seal on the shaft.

Install collar (8) .
Install tool (A) on the carrier roller. Put the Duo-Cone Seal under compression by using tool (A) with a press so that the spiral ring can be installed. Install the spiral ring.

Position bracket (9) on the shaft. Tighten bolts (10). The dowels should be in alignment with the holes in the bracket.
Position the carrier roller with the shaft in a vertical position.
Remove the plug from the end of the carrier roller. Fill the carrier roller with 0.53 0.03 L (0.1400 0.0079 US gal) of SAE 30 oil. Install the plug and tighten the plug to a torque of 170 20 N m (125 15 lb ft).
Loosen bolts (10) after the carrier roller is installed.
Align the carrier roller with the track. Tighten the bolts.End By: Install the track carrier roller. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Carrier Roller - Install".
