Adjustment of Winch Drum
1. Put the O-ring seal and washer in position on bevel gear shaft and tighten nut (1) to 680 68 N m (500 50 lb ft).2. Put flange (6) in position with the O-ring seal but without the shims.3. Put O-ring seal and washer in position and tighten nut (4) to 340 34 N m (250 25 lb ft) to seat the bearings.4. Measure the gap between the case and flange (6) with a feeler gauge in four places around the flange.5. Make a note of the average measurement.6. Loosen nut (4) and flange (6).7. Install the amount of shims (7) the same thickness as the gap measured in Step 4) between flange (6) and the case.8. Align the holes in flange (6) with the holes in the case and install bolts (5) finger tight.9. Tighten nut (4) to 680 68 N m (500 50 lb ft).10. Tighten bolts (5) to 45 7 N m (33 5 lb ft)Adjustment Of Bevel Gear And Shaft Assembly
