START BY:a. remove cylinders (lift, tilt or angle) The disassembly and assembly procedure for the bulldozer lift, tilt and angle cylinders is similar. Only the lift cylinder is shown. Make sure all of the oil is removed before the cylinder is disassembled.1. Put the cylinder in position on tooling (A) as shown.2. Use tool (A), and extend the cylinder.3. Put support (3) [part of tooling (A)] in position under rod assembly (1).4. Use tool (B), and remove crown (2) from cylinder assembly (4).5. Use tool (A), and move cylinder assembly (4) away from rod assembly (1). 6. Use tooling (C) and (D), and remove the bolt and washer that holds piston (6) to rod assembly (1).7. Remove piston (6), head (5) and crown (2) from the rod assembly. 8. Remove ring (7) and seal assembly (8) from piston (6). 9. Remove three seals (9) from head (5). 10. Remove O-ring seal (10) and ring (11) from head (5).Assemble Cylinders
1. Install ring (3) and O-ring seal (2) on head (1). 2. Install seals (4), (5) and (6) in head (1). Install the seals with the lip of the seals as shown. Put clean oil on the lip of the seals. 3. Install seal assembly (9) and ring (7) on piston (8). 4. Put rod assembly (11) in position on tooling (A). Put support (12) in position under the rod assembly as shown.5. Put crown (10), head (1) and piston (8) in position on rod assembly (11) as shown.6. Put clean oil on the threads of the bolt. Install the washer and bolt that hold piston (8) to the rod assembly. Use tooling (B) and (C), and tighten the bolt to the correct torque valve. The correct torque valve for the cylinders is as follows:a. 3G9226 Lift Cylinder (Angle), 1U2568 Tilt Cylinder (Straight) 1350 100 N m (1000 110 lb. ft.).b. 4T1063 Tilt Cylinder (Angle), 4T4783 Lift Cylinder (Straight) 1125 100 N m (820 75 lb. ft.).c. 4T1683 Angle Cylinder (Angle) 750 80 N m (550 60 lb. ft.). 7. Use tooling (A), and install cylinder assembly (13) on rod assembly (11).8. Put clean oil on the threads on the cylinder assembly. Install crown (10) on the cylinder assembly. Use tool (C), and tighten the crown to a torque of 600 130 N m (440 95 lb.ft.).END BY:a. install cylinders (lift, tilt or angle)
