Remove four bolts and washers (1). slowly lower guard assembly (2) to the ground. When tooling (A) is used the rear guard can only be removed by way of the front of the machine. The frame is too low at the rear of the machine. This will make it necessary to raise and lock the bucket on the 939 or raise and block the blade on a D4C.

9391. Using tooling (A) (not shown) support rear guard assembly (2) and remove eight bolts and washers (1). Lower rear guard assembly (2) to the ground and slide out the front of the machine. Weight of the guard is 39 kg (86 lb).
