(6) Outlet passage returns to the tank. Pressure oil from the fan pump goes into the fan motor. The oil goes to a tee. The oil then goes to the cooler or to the cooler bypass valve.During normal operation, the oil goes through the filter element (3) and out through outlet passage (6) to the hydraulic tank. The filter element stops any debris that is in the oil. If the filter element becomes full of debris, the restriction to the flow of oil causes a pressure increase inside the filter. The pressure oil then causes the bypass valve (10), that is located in the filter housing (4), to move against the force of the spring. The oil then goes past the open bypass valve and into the hydraulic tank.
