3500 and 3500B Family AllThe reusable connector on some steel braided hoses may be incorrectly installed. Refer to Illustration 1. If the gap between the permanent portion of the connector (1) and the swivel portion of the connector (2) is too large, a leak may result. If the fluid in the hose is flammable, a fire may result.

Zero gap is acceptable. The maximum allowable gap is 1.57 mm (0.062 inch). A feeler gauge can be used in order to measure the gap with acceptable accuracy. Replace the hose assembly if the gap exceeds 1.57 mm (0.062 inch).
