Remove Transmission Oil And Scavenge Pump (Direct Drive)
start by:a) remove drive shaft1. Drain the oil from the transmission and flywheel clutch. 2. Disconnect hose assembly (1) from the oil pump.3. Disconnect tube assembly (2). 4. Move shaft (3) out of the flywheel clutch approximately .50 in. (12.7 mm) to permit the removal of the oil pump.5. Remove five bolts (5). Remove transmission oil and scavenge pump (4) from the flywheel clutch housing.Install Transmission Oil And Scavenge Pump (Direct Drive)
1. Install a new gasket on the flywheel housing. Put transmission oil and scavenge pump (1) in position. Install the bolts that hold it. 2. Connect hose assembly (2) to the oil pump.3. Check the O-ring seal in the tube assembly. If necessary, make a replacement. Install tube assembly (3).4. Fill the transmission and flywheel clutch with oil to the correct level. start by:a) remove transmission oil and scavenge pump 1. Remove spiral lockring (1) from the shaft. 2. Remove gear (2) with tooling (A). 3. Remove key (3). Remove spiral lockring (4).4. Remove four bolts (5). Remove cover assembly (6), body assembly and gear. 5. Remove gear (7) from the cover assembly.6. Remove body assembly (8) from the cover assembly. 7. Remove bearing (9) from the gear with tooling (B). 8. Remove bearing (10) from the cover assembly with tooling (B). 9. Remove cover assembly (11). 10. Remove bearings (12) from the cover assembly.11. Remove O-ring seal (13). 12. Use a soft hammer to move the gear shaft down until gear (14) can be removed.13. Remove plate (15). Remove key from gear. 14. Remove gears (16) and (17).15. Remove body assembly (18) from the manifold. 16. Remove O-ring seal (20).17. Remove bearings (19) from manifold assembly (21).18. Remove the lip seal from the manifold assembly.Assemble Transmission Oil And Scavenge Pump (Direct Drive)
1. Use tooling (A) to install the two bearings (1) in the manifold assembly. Install the bearings so the joints (X) are at an angle 30° 15° from the center line of the bores in the manifold assembly as shown. Install the bearings to a depth of .062 in. (1.57 mm) below the machined surface of the manifold.2. Install the lip seal in the manifold assembly with tooling (A). The lip must be away from the bearing.3. Install O-ring seal (2). 4. Install body assembly (5) on the manifold.5. Install gears (4) and (3). 6. Install two bearings (6) in the cover with tooling (A). Install the bearings so the joints (X) are at an angle 30° 15° from the center line of the bores in the cover as shown.7. Install O-ring seal (7) in the cover. 8. Put cover assembly (8) in position on the body. 9. Put wear plate (10) in position on the manifold assembly with the bronze side against the gears.10. Install key (11) on gear shaft. Put gear (9) on gear shaft and use a soft
