3204 Engines, 3300 Family Of EnginesSUPPLEMENT: 09/00/93Engine News; December, 1991; Page 3; "New Gaskets Help Prevent Leaks From Fuel System Governors" for 3204 and 3300 Family Of Engines.Additional information is now available concerning leaks at the high idle screw cover or the power screw cover on the above engines.
New covers should be used to replace the earlier covers. The covers now in stock are the same part number, however, parts stock is now a different material that will maintain flatness on the sealing face. New 5P6945 Bolts should be used to ensure sufficient thread engagement for the 12.24 N m (9 lb ft) torque. The power screw cover requires 3.4 N m (30 lb in) torque. Existing bolts can be used on the power screw cover.
The original 1991 information concerning gaskets and washers still apply.
--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------Description of Change: New gaskets are used on the fuel system governors. A new gasket is used under cover (1) for the high idle adjustment screw and cover (3) for the torque rise and fuel setting adjustment screws. A new gasket is also used under the electrical shut-off solenoid. The new gaskets will help prevent leaks. New washers are used under the bolt heads on bolts (2) and (4) that attach covers (1) and (3) to the governor housing. The new washers will help prevent the bolt heads from damaging the covers.

Illustration 2. Location of electrical shut-off solenoid gasket.Adaptable To: The new 6I2003 Gasket is a direct replacement for the former 8N3263 Gasket used under high idle cover (1). The new 6I2004 Gasket is a direct replacement for the former 8N3264 Gasket used under load stop cover (3). The former 8N3263 and 8N3264 Gaskets are canceled. The new 6I2002 Gasket is a direct replacement for the 2W5447 Gasket used under the electrical shut-off solenoid. The 2W5447 Gasket is not canceled. A new 5P0537 Washer is used under the heads of two bolts (2). A new 8T0328 Washer is used under the heads of two bolts (4).
