PUMP GP-PISTON & VANE 1123759 - Caterpillar

The engine is a six cylinder, four stroke cycle, diesel engine with an 11 1/2-inch (29.2 cm) clutch and power take-off on the flywheel end. The power take-off turns a primary countershaft through a belt drive. A sprocket keyed to the other end of the primary countershaft works through two reduction chain drives to turn the conveyor drive shaft. Two sprockets keyed to the drive shaft mesh with and move the two chains that have the conveyor slats bolted between them. The turbocharged engine is protected against dust and other contamination contained in the intake air by a two-stage dry-type air cleaner. Angled pre-cleaner vanes give the incoming air a cyclonic twist which spins out most of the contaminants. The contaminants fall to the bottom of the air cleaner and are then discharged out an evacuator valve. Any remaining contaminants in the intake air are trapped by the primary element. The safety element protects the engine if the primary element is damaged and also while the primary element is removed.
