Never visually inspect the vent holes or valves to see if grease or oil is coming out of them. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track. Watch the cylinder to see that it moves.
Do not tighten the track if clearance (A) between the front of the stop on the recoil rod and the rear face of the equalizer bar support is less than ... .125 in.(3.2 mm)

Packing must NOT be removed from the track, if packing conditions exist on the job.1. Move the machine forward a distance of twice its length. Allow the machine to come to a stop without the use of the brakes.

Make a mark (B) on the track roller frame, even with the front face of the idler bearing assembly. See ILLUSTRATION 1.3. Make a mark (C) on the track roller frame 1/2 in. (13 mm) behind mark (B).
