REMOVE CERTAIN 2M4314 BUSHINGS FROM PARTS STOCKS, 3400 Series Engines In All Applications, 1251, PI7028 U-47 A-41 AU-36 B-19 C-43 E-38 O-30 TT-8.1 Problem A 2M4314 Bushing retains the injection pumps in the injection pump housing on 3400 Series Engines. The thrust surface on some of these bushings has excessive runout with respect to the threads. This can allow the injection pump to not seal properly and pump less fuel than needed for proper performance. Action Requested (Parts Stock Action Required) Check the date code on all packages of 2M4314 Bushings. Packages with the following date codes are satisfactory for parts service: 12-81 through 3-82 (December 1981 through March 1982) 12-82 (December 1982) or later Any packages with other date codes, or no date codes, should be removed from stocks. Also, remove all loose or individual bushings from stocks or rebuild areas. Warranty Allowance Submit one claim for all unsatisfactory bushings. Parts Disposition Dispose of the unsatisfactory bushings in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin, "Warranty Parts Handling". Termination Date September 30, 1983.
