A FT-2674 Vacuum Cap 1 Start By:
Release the hydraulic system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, " Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Remove the left engine enclosure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Enclosure Group - Remove ".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Install Tooling (A) onto the hydraulic tank (1). Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (A). Apply 275.7904 413.6856 kPa (40 60 psi). This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.

Remove bolts (2). Remove sheet (3) .
Remove bolts (4). Remove plate (5) .
Remove bolts (6). Remove plate (7) .

Loosen bolts (13). Remove bolts (10) and sheet (11) .
Loosen bolts (12). Remove bolts (8) and sheet (9) .

Disconnect hose assemblies (14), (15), (16), and (17). Position hose assemblies (14), (15), (16), and (17) aside.

Remove elbows (18), bolts (19), and valve (20) .

Attach a suitable lifting device to piston motor (22). The weight of piston motor (22) is approximately 27 kg (60 lb). Remove bolts (21) and piston motor (22) .
