Make a hole in the adhesive for the passage of the wire. Use a sawing motion for pulling the wire through the adhesive. Move the wire along the edge of the window glass during the operation.Note: Use caution during the use of the wire. Wrap the ends of the wire or attach handles (F) to the ends of the wire. This is for protection from the sharp points at the end of the wire.Note: Make sure that the wire is positioned in order to prevent cutting into the window. The polycarbonate is a soft material.
Before the window is removed, use Tooling (H) for holding the window. Use a second service technician for help with supporting the window until the window is completely cut out.

Remove excess adhesive from the frame.

Trim adhesive to a thickness (U) of 1 mm (0.04 inch) to 2 mm (0.08 inch). (V) Excess adhesive
Trim the excess adhesive (V) to a thickness (U) of 1 mm (0.04 inch) to 2 mm (0.08 inch).
Clean the side of the frame and the flanged area on the frame with methanol (12). This step will remove the old adhesive. The methanol is also used for preparing the frame for an application of primer.
Apply primer (13) to the flanged area of the frame. Allow the primer to dry for a minimum of ten minutes at 23 °C (73 °F).
Prepare the new polycarbonate window (10) by applying methanol (12) to the ceramic area of the window.
Apply primer (13) to the ceramic surface of the window. Allow the primer to dry at least 10 minutes at 23 °C (73 °F).

Install spacers (5) and spacers (6) at the points that are shown in Illustration 33. Measure the locations of two spacers from the end of radius (JJ) on the rounded corner of the glass.

Cut off the tip of the cartridge of adhesive (11) and place into Tooling (C). Apply the adhesive (11) to the ceramic surface (W) of the window. Illustration 34 shows the dimensions for the width (KK) and the height (LL) of the adhesive.
