Remove the blade. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly Manual, RENR2031, "Buldozer Blade - Remove and Install".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic tank is hot and under pressure.Hot oil and components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the filler cap slowly in order to relieve pressure.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Support belly guard (2) with tool (A). Remove bolts (1). Lower belly guard (2). Remove belly guard (2) .

Support C-frame assembly with tool (B).

Remove three hydraulic hoses (4). Repeat the procedure for the opposite side of the machine.

Remove the bolt and retainer (6) and remove pin (5). Repeat the procedure for the opposite side of the machine.

Remove bolts (7) and remove retainer (8) .
Install tool (C) to pin (9). Remove shims and pin (9). Repeat for opposite side of machine.

Slowly move the tractor away from C-frame assembly (3) .
