Center of the Machine, Below the Engine (1) GeneratorGenerator (1) is located in the center of the machine, below the engine. Note: The above illustration shows the generator from the left side of the machine. The machine is shown partially disassembled.Generator (1) is belt driven by the engine. A single V belt and pulleys drive the generator off the left side of the engine. The generator is single phase and rated 220 VAC and 12kW. Power from generator (1) is delivered to the accessory power connector and the screed circuit breakers.

Right Side of Machine (2) Circuit breaker "QA" (3) Generator enable relay "C44"Circuit breaker "QA" (2) is located inside the control box for the screed heater. This box is located behind the right operator seat. The door to the box must be opened and a panel must be removed to access generator enable relay "C44" (3) .Circuit breaker "QA" (2) is wired into the generator output circuit. Circuit breaker "QA" is rated 6 amp. This circuit breaker protects the system from overload and provides fault isolation.Generator enable relay "C44" (3) provides an excitation signal to the generator. The heater control unit energizes this relay when the engine reaches 1800 rpm.

Left Side of Machine (4) Circuit breaker "QG"Circuit breaker "QG" (4) is located on the left side of the machine, forward of the left drive tire.Note: A panel has been removed in the above illustration for clarity.Circuit breaker "QG" (4) is wired into the generator output circuit. This 50 amp circuit breaker protects components in the generator supply circuit from overload.

Right Side of Machine (5) Accessory power connectorAccessory power connector (5) is located behind the right operator seat.Accessory power connector (5) supplies 220 VAC power for lights or other equipment. Circuit breaker "QA" (2) supplies power to the connector when generator (1) is operating.

Instrument Panel of the Main Console (6) Generator indicatorGenerator indicator (6) is located on the instrument panel of the main console.Generator indicator (6) illuminates when the engine rpm is sufficient for proper generator function. ECM "RC4" controls this function.
