Install clutch piston (20) in the clutch housing.

Install clutch plate (19) in the clutch housing.
Use Tooling (C) to hold the clutch plate in the clutch housing.

Tooling (K) must be modified in order to be used as a guide bolt. Position Tooling (K) in a suitable vise. Remove the head of the bolt in order to use Tooling (K) as a guide bolt.

Install clutch housing (18) .

Remove Tooling (K). Install bolts (17) and the washers. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 120 20 N m (89 15 lb ft).

Install bearings (14) in planetary gears (13).

Install the gear assemblies, thrust discs (12), thrust discs (15) and planetary shafts (11) in planetary carrier (8) .Note: Check the condition of spring pins (16). If the spring pins are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.
Use a hammer and a punch to install spring pins (16) that hold planetary shafts (11) in planetary carrier (8) .

Install metal seal ring (10) on the planetary carrier.

Compress metal seal ring (10) and install planetary carrier (8) in the ring gear until the metal seal ring fits into the groove of the ring gear.

Use Tooling (B) to install retaining ring (9) on the output shaft.

Perform the following steps in order to verify that the clutch pistons are free in the clutch housings.
Use Tooling (M) in order to pressurize each of the six oil passages. The air pressure should be 690 kPa (100 psi) to 1035 kPa (150 psi).
If the clutch pistons do not move, place a small amount of clean transmission oil in each oil passage. Repeat Step 109.a. If the clutch pistons still do not move, the transmission must be disassembled again so that the clutch pistons and the seal rings can be checked.

Install O-ring seals (5) and (6) on the transmission case.

Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to clutch housing (4). Install the planetary group into the transmission case. Install the two bolts that hold them together.End By:
Connect the transmission output to the transmission. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Output to Transmission - Connect".
Install the hydraulic control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Install".
Connect the torque converter to the transmission case. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter to Transmission - Connect".
