Information:

At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot water or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns. Look at the sight guage to check the coolant level. The coolant level should be in the green range. If necessary, remove the fill cap only after the engine has been stopped and the cap is cool enough to remove with your bare hand. Remove the cooling system fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system condition contains alkali that can cause personal injury. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes and do not drink. Allow cooling system components to cool before draining.
1. To release the pressure in the cooling system, slowly loosen the radiator fill cap. Turn two valves (1) in a clockwise direction to shut off coolant flow to the cab. 2. Mark and identify two heater hoses (2) for installation purposes. Put a suitable container in position under heater hoses (2), to contain any coolant that may drain during the removal process. Loosen the hose clamps, and disconnect two heater hoses (2) from the heater coil and the valve assembly. 3. Loosen screw (4), and disconnect control cable (5) from valve assembly (3). 4. Remove bolt (9) that holds thermostat capillary tube (8) in the evaporator core. Carefully pull thermostat capillary tube (8) out of the evaporator core, and position out of the way.5. Remove the remaining nine bolts (6) that hold cover (7) in position. Remove cover (7) from the air conditioning/heater housing. 6. Remove two bolts (11) and the washers that hold bracket (12) to air conditioning/heater housing. Remove two bolts (10) and the washers that hold the heater coil to the evaporator core. 7. Carefully remove heater coil (13) from the air conditioning/heater housing. The following steps are for the installation of the heater coil. 8. Check heater coil (13) for wear or damage. Put heater coil (13) in position in the air conditioning/heater housing. 9. Install two bolts (10) and the washers that hold the heater coil to the evaporator core. Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 12 3 N m (9 2 lb ft). Install two bolts (11) and the washers that hold bracket (12) to the air conditioning/heater housing. Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 25 6 N m (20 5 lb ft). 10. Put cover (7) in position on the air conditioning/heater housing, and install nine bolts (6). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 12 3 N m (20 2 lb ft).11. Put thermostat capillary tube (8) through cover (7) and in the evaporator core. Total probe depth of capillary tube (8) is 75 10 mm (2.957 .394 in).12. Install bolt (9) and the washers that hold thermostat capillary tube (8) in the evaporator core. Tighten bolt (9) to a torque of 12 3 N m (20 2 lb ft). 13. Put control
