Start the machine
Release the parking brake
Engage the transmission in either first gear forward or first gear reverseTo activate the cab override system, press the red tab on the bottom of switch A then press the top of the switch. An audible alarm will sound indicating that the system is armed. All of the override switch backlights will illuminate when the system is armed.To start the engine, push and hold the bottom side of switch B. Release the switch after the engine has started. To turn off the engine from inside the cab, place the ignition key in the OFF position and turn the override activation switch OFF.To release the parking brake, push the top side of switch B. The switch will remain in that position.Note: The parking brake switch backlight will illuminate when the parking brake is engaged at any time, even if the override system is not activated.To engage the transmission, push and hold switch C. Pushing the bottom side will engage the first reverse gear while pushing the top side will engage the first forward gear.Note: The transmission override should only be used in an emergency situation. During normal operation, the switch should be in the center, neutral position.Note: If any of the override switches needs to be activated beyond testing purposes, contact your local Cat dealer immediately for service. The machine should not be placed back into operation until the dealer has inspected the machine.Rear Machine Override Control Panel
There is an override control panel located at the rear of the machine.

Stop the engine
Test the parking brake override system
Activate the parking brake override systemTo stop the engine using the rear control panel, lift the cover over switch (D) then flip the toggle switch upward.To test the parking brake override system, lift the cover over switch (F) then flip and hold the toggle switch upward. Allow the switch to return to center position upon completion of the test.To release the parking brake, lift the cover over switch (F) then flip the toggle switch downward. The switch will remain in that position.Lamp (E) will illuminate during a system test to indicate that the parking brake override system is fully charged and is working correctly.Lamp (G) will illuminate when the parking brake is engaged at any time, even if the override system is not activated.Note: Make sure that the parking brake override is not activated when you park the machine. When the switch guard is closed, the override switch must be in the middle position. The switch can be in the override position
