Remove bolt (20) that secures clip (21) to the bracket. Remove clip (21). Disconnect wire harness (22) .

Remove two bolts (23) from the transfer gear case. Remove two brackets (24) from the transfer gear case.

The view is on the top of the transmission housing.
Remove three hose clips (25). Remove two bolts (26) that secure valve (27) to cover (28). Remove nut (29) that secures valve (27) to cover (30). Disconnect four hose assemblies (31). Place the four hose assemblies aside. Place valve (27) aside.

Remove eight electrical connectors (32) from the clips. Disconnect eight electrical connectors (32) .

Remove eight clips (33). Place the hose and the wire harnesses aside.

The view is between the top of the transmission housing and the left fender. If necessary, refer to Illustration 9 for the location of the two tubes. The step is removed for photographic purposes.
Remove eight bolts (34) and the washers that secure the four half flanges around two tubes (35). Disconnect two tubes (35) .

The view is on the left side of the transmission case and under the left fender.
Remove bolt (36) and remove three nuts (37) that secure manifold (38) to the transmission case. Remove manifold (38). Remove the O-ring seals from the manifold.

Remove two sleeves (39). Remove the O-ring seals from each end of the sleeves.

Remove bolts (40). Remove cover (41) and the shims between the cover and the differential housing.

Install Tooling (D) in the end of pin (42). Use Tooling (D) in order to remove pin (42). Remove the O-ring seal from the pin.

Fasten tooling (A), tooling (B), tooling (C), and a hoist to the transfer gears, the torque converter, and the transmission, as shown.

Disconnect hose (43). Remove eighteen nuts (44). Remove two nuts (45). Remove two bolts (46) that hold the transmission and the differential together.
Remove the transfer gears, the torque converter, and the transmission as one unit. The weight of the unit is 1134 kg (2500 lb).

Remove three small O-ring seals (48). Remove large O-ring seal (49) .
