Troubleshooting Test Steps Values Results
1. Check for Codes
A. Connect Cat® Electronic Technician (ET) to the service tool connector.
B. Determine if a code is active or logged.
Codes
Result: A code is active or logged.
Proceed to Test Step 2.
2. Check the AC Breaker on the Dosing Cabinet
A. Remove the dosing cabinet panel to access the AC Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) pump circuit breaker.
B. Verify that the AC breaker, on the front face of the dosing cabinet, is in the ON position.
Breaker
Result: The AC DEF pump circuit breaker is in the ON position.
Proceed to Test Step 3.
Result: The AC DEF pump circuit breaker is not in the ON position.
Repair: Put the AC DEF pump circuit breaker in the ON position.
If the problem is not resolved, proceed to Test Step 3.
3. Operate the Engine
A. Turn the DC breaker, located in the power distribution box, to the OFF position for at least 1 minute.
B. Turn the DC breaker, located in the power distribution box, to the ON position.
C. Start the engine.
D. Run the engine until normal operating temperature is reached.
E. Connect Cat ET.
F. Use Cat ET to monitor the following:

Result: A code is not active.
Return to service.
