Steering Frame Lock in the LOCKED Position (1) Steering frame lock.
Move steering frame lock (1) to the LOCKED position.
Engage the parking brake. Move the transmission direction selector to the NEUTRAL position.

Margin Pressure Test (2) Pressure gauge. (3) Pressure gauge for Margin pressure. (4) Pressure differential gauge group. (5) Hydraulic line for signal pressure. (6) Hydraulic line for pump pressure.
Attach a 0 to 25000 kPa (0 to 3600 psi) pressure gauge (2) to the tee on pressure differential gauge group (4) .

Install hydraulic line (6). Connect one end of hydraulic line (6) to pressure tap (8). Pressure tap (8) is for the steering pump. Pressure tap (8) is located on the right side of the machine and above the right neutralizer valve. Connect the other end of the hydraulic line (6) to the tee on pressure differential gauge group (4) .
Install hydraulic line (5). Connect hydraulic line (5) between signal pressure tap (7) and the single pressure port on pressure differential gauge group (4). Signal pressure tap (7) is located on the right side of the machine and above the rear of the hydraulic oil tank. Signal pressure tap (7) is located on the left side of the pump pressure tap.Note: Position pressure differential gauge group (4) and hydraulic lines (5) and (6) in order to prevent damage from any machine movement. Position the test equipment in order to allow either a second technician or the operator that is in the cab to hold the test equipment while the steering wheel is being turned. Do not place the pressure differential gauge group in the position that is shown in illustration 6.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at high idle. Move the tilt control lever to the TILT BACK position in order to increase the oil to normal operating temperature. The oil is at normal operating temperature when the hydraulic oil temperature indicator is between the first mark and the second mark. Check for oil leaks.
After the oil has reached normal operating temperature, lower the bucket to the ground. Stop the engine.

Move steering frame lock (1) to the STORED position.
Start the engine. Raise the bucket until the bucket is slightly off the ground. Run the engine at high idle.
Fully articulate the machine.
Engage the parking brake.
Turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction of articulation to the FULLY TURNED position. Hold the steering wheel in the FULLY TURNED position.
The needle on the differential pressure gauge (3) will bounce between readings, but the needle should stabilize at 2400 100 kPa (350 15 psi). Margin pressure is the difference between the steering pump pressure and the signal pressure.
If the pressure reading on pressure gauge (3) is to specifications, proceed to Step 20. If the pressure reading is not to specifications, release the steering wheel. Reduce the engine speed to low idle. Stop the engine.Note:
