Remove the temperature control valve.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for correct draining and filling procedures.

Disconnect harness assemblies (3). Remove bolts (1) and bracket assembly (2).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto engine oil filter housing (4). The weight of engine oil filter housing (4) is approximately 104 kg (230 lb). Remove bolts (5). Disconnect tube assembly (6). Remove bolts (7). Remove bolts (8).

Remove bolts (11). Disconnect tube assembly (12). Remove bolts (10). Remove bolts (9) and remove engine oil filter housing (4). Installation Procedure
Install oil filter housing (4) in the reverse order of removal.
