1. Disconnect ground wire assembly (2).2. Disconnect electrical wiring harnesses (1) from the alternator.3. Remove bolt (4), the washer and the spacer.4. Loosen bolt (3), and push the alternator towards the engine. Remove V-belts (6) from the alternator pulley.5. Remove bolt (3) and the washer, and remove the alternator. Do not attempt to remove nut assembly (5) from bolt (3), it has an attached lock tab which is not readily apparent and bolt (3) must be removed from nut assembly (5).6. Remove the locknut and the washer that hold the drive pulley to the alternator. Using a suitable puller, remove the drive pulley from the alternator. The following steps are for the installation of the alternator.7. Be sure the shaft of the alternator in the pulley mounting area is thoroughly clean. Install the drive pulley on the alternator shaft. Install the washer and the locknut that hold the pulley in position. Tighten the locknut to a torque of 102 7 N m (76 5 lb ft). 8. Position the alternator, and install bolt (3) and the washer.9. Install V-belts (6) to the alternator pulley. Tighten bolt (3).10. Install bolt (4), the washer and the spacer.11. Connect electrical wiring harnesses (1) to the alternator.12. Connect ground wire assembly (2).13. Make adjustment to the V-belt tension with a belt tension gauge. Refer to the Specifications in the Testing & Adjusting Manual for correct tension.
