Note: Your machine may not have some of the oil sampling valves. Use a suction gun in order to draw oil from the filler holes of your machine when a sampling valve is not available. Refer to Special Publication, PEHP6001, "How To Take A Good Oil Sample" for more information about obtaining a sample of oil.The sampling valve for the engine oil is located on the filter base.The sampling valve for the transmission is located on the housing for the transmission oil filter.The sampling valve for the hydraulic oil is located on the top of the return tube and near the hydraulic tank.More Frequent S O S Sampling
Traditionally, the suggested S O S sampling intervals have been at each oil change, 250 hours for engines, or every 500 hours for all other compartments. Whenever conditions are extreme, a sampling interval of 250 hours for all compartments is recommended. Working in high environmental temperatures may be an extreme condition that would warrant a sampling interval of every 250 hours.
