Remove Camshaft Rear Gear And Balancer
START BY:a. remove flywheel housing 1. Turn the engine until the "V" marks on camshaft gear (1) and balancer gear (2) are in alignment.2. Loosen bolts (3) approximately 3.18 mm (.125 in.). 3. Install tool (A) as shown. Tighten the bolt from tool (A) until gear (1) is loose from the camshaft taper. Remove tool (A).4. Remove four bolts (3). Remove gear (1).5. Remove plate (4) and the bolt. Remove gear (2).6. Remove the bearing from gear (2) with tooling (B) and a press.Install Camshaft Rear Gear And Balancer
The joint in the bearing must be on a centerline 20° with the weight side of the balance joint.1. Install the bearing in balancer gear (1) with tooling (A) until it is 1.3 mm (.05 in.) from the surface on the weight side (back side). 2. Put gear (1) into position on the engine. Install plate (4).3. Put gear (2) in position on the camshaft. Make sure the dowel on the camshaft is in alignment with the hole in the camshaft gear and "V" marks (5) are in alignment.4. Install bolts (3). Tighten the four bolts evenly to a torque of 25 4 N m (20 3 lb.ft.).5. Check the end play of the balancer gear. End play must be 0.15 to 0.36 mm (.006 to .014 in.).END BY:a. install flywheel housing
