Remove the axle shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.

Install Tooling (A) to final drive planetary carrier (1). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (A). The weight of the planetary carrier is approximately 84 kg (185 lb).

Remove three bolts (2) from planetary carrier (1) on the 825H Wheel Dozer only.

Remove planetary carrier (1) from wheel assembly (3).
Remove O-ring seal (4) from planetary carrier (1).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to support planetary carrier (1). Position planetary carrier (1) on a wood block, as shown.
Slowly remove planetary shaft (5) from planetary carrier (1). Planetary shaft (5) is a slip fit.

Remove thrust washer (10), gear (9) and thrust washer (6) from the planetary carrier.
Remove sleeve bearing (7) from gear (9).
Remove pin (8) from planetary shaft (5).
Repeat steps 6 through 9 for the removal of the other two planetary gears.
